If you are heading to London then there is one attraction that you must go to and that is the London Eye. It is a fantastic opportunity to see all of London from the air, which is something that you would not normally get the opportunity to do. It is a good idea to start of your visit to London at the eye because you will be able to see all of the city and get a great idea of where you want to visit.

The ride itself is pretty slow and lasts about half an hour. This means that it is less like a fairground ride than it might appear and you get a nice long time to take in the surroundings in all directions. If you are lucky enough to be able to get there as night falls then you will be treated to seeing all of the city lights coming on while you are in the pod.

To get to the eye you should head to Waterloo Station as it is the nearest train station to the eye. The only problem with the London Eye is that it is a long way from most of the other London attractions, in fact all of the attractions are spread apart. So why not consider getting a hire car, which you can pick up at Waterloo Station and then you can have the freedom to drive wherever you like and see everything that you want to.

Originally opened in 1898 London’s Waterloo station is officially the busiest and largest train station in the whole of the United Kingdom. It deals with over 180 million passengers every single year!

It has a massive 20 platforms which can be rather confusing, but there are screens in the main hall area which give arrival and departure times for all trains. There are also several information points, where staff are always on hand to answer and questions you may have.

The Eurostar (a high speed train that connect the United Kingdom with France and Belgium) used to run its services from here from 1997 – but recently moved to London St.Pancreas.

This station connects to many other cities around the country including Reading, Woking, Guildford, Basingstoke and Portsmouth.

Due to the many millions of people who use this station on a daily basis, Waterloo is over over-crammed sometimes sparking concerns of public safety. Since the Eurostar departure there are 4 unused platforms, which may later be turned into other lines to help ease the problem.

And if you are arriving in at Waterloo station to start you business trip or vacation, then it is a good idea to rent a hire car for your stay. This will allow you to explore everything London has to offer in your own time. It also allows you not to have to take unreliable public transportation or spend tons on taxi fares.

It is a good idea to book your car hire in advance, that way you can pick it up when you arrive in Waterloo and within a few minutes you could be driving away.
